In laser-assisted liposuction, better science leads to better results.
Smartlipo is the most widely used and extensively studied, used and validated laser-assisted liposuction or lipolysis system available today. It was the first laser introduced for this purpose. With eight years of studies, Smartlipo has been shown to involve less pain, less bruising and swelling, and provide a faster recovery time than traditional liposuction.
- A 2009 study published in Clinics in Plastic Surgery noted “Smartlipo is proven to be a safer and more effective method of body contouring. The histological findings from clinical studies demonstrate the advantages from traditional liposuction that include improvement in recovery time and the final clinical result.”
- A 2006 study published by the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery stated Smartlipo provides “excellent patient tolerance, quick recovery time, as well as the benefit of dermal tightening through coagulation.”
- A study published in Lasers in Surgery and Medicine in 2006 showed that Smartlipo is a useful tool for the treatment of local “lipodystrophy,” or build-up of fat. It also was effective for the formation of new collagen resulting in skin tightening through coagulation.
- A Clinics in Plastic Surgery study published by Dr. Alberto Goldman and Dr. Robert Gotkin in 2009 summarized, “By reducing blood loss, minimizing both aesthetic side effects and complications, and by promoting improvements in skin contraction, laser-assisted lipolysis has proven itself to be safer and more effective.”
